Senior School Admissions - Hurstpierpoint College

Senior School Admissions

If you would like your child to be considered for a place at Hurst Senior School please complete the online Registration Form. This will reserve a place for your child in the year group required, but does not guarantee a place. Please register your child at least three years prior to when you would like them to join.

Pre-entry tests

Registered pupils looking to join Hurst at 13+ (Year 9) will be asked to sit the online ISEB Common Pre-tests in Year 6. These tests are age standardised computer tests which measure ability and attainment and include Verbal and Non-verbal reasoning, Maths and English and are designed so that pupils cannot prepare for them. For more information on these tests please visit the ISEB website.

Pupils usually sit these tests at their Prep School and they will liaise with you about the timing. For pupils who attend non-Common Entrance schools we will arrange for the tests to be completed at Hurst. For pupils who live outside the UK, we will discuss arrangements with individual families.

13+ Admissions Process

On completion of the pre-entry tests, Hurst will discuss the results with the pupil’s current school and look at their academic progress as well as their involvement in extra-curricular activities. Based on this information, offers are made. All offers are subject to receiving a satisfactory reference from the pupil’s current school.

Pupils who have been offered a place and currently receive learning support will be invited to spend time with Hurst’s Learning Support department so that plans can be made to have support in place before a pupil joins Hurst.
