Virtual music concert - Hurstpierpoint College

As the Music School was unable to host its termly informal concerts this term, pupils from Years 3-8 who take individual lessons had an opportunity to perform to their class instead. These performances were recorded and a virtual informal concert was created, so that our pupils had the chance to share their music with family and friends beyond the classroom.

For many, performing to their peers was more difficult than the usual live concerts which happen after school. However, the audiences were unanimously supportive and many of the pupils who listened commented on how good it was to hear their friends play.

It is a risk to perform in front of an audience and it takes courage and commitment to do so. The pupils who played rose to this challenge and stepped out of their comfort zones.

I commend our pupils for taking a leap of faith and I hope it has helped them to realise the pleasure that sharing their love of music can bring to so many people Kate Bray, Acting Head of Prep School Music
