Sisters n Sport National Netball Cup Final

The U14A team travelled to Bromsgrove School for the U14 Cup Inspiresport Sisters n Sport National Netball Cup yesterday. These girls have put in some miles over the last few weeks and despite the three hour journey to Bromsgrove School, it never seemed to dampen their spirits or energy levels.

The girls knew that this would be a tough game as a week prior, the team had played Withington at the National School Finals and unfortunately lost against them in the first game of the tournament. To win against Withington, the team needed to bring their ‘A’ game, all the centre passes needed to go to goal, and every turnover needed to be capitalised on.

Immediately Withington took an 8 goal lead which continued into the second quarter. The team made a lot of errors when in possession and it cost the team dearly. In the third quarter, the attacking positions were changed and all of a sudden the team moved into another gear. During this quarter the girls had more possession of the ball which took them to goal, resulting in a 15-10 win for that quarter. It was very important for the team to continue the same intensity in the fourth quarter. Unfortunately, despite the push, Withington beat us 52-32.

The team placed 2nd and were awarded silver medals. Well done to Tianna B who was awarded Player of the Moment, nominated by Withington.
