Scotts Charity Day - Hurstpierpoint College

Scotts Charity Day

A frosty Thursday morning in December provided the perfect backdrop for Scotts’ Festive Charity Day. The members of Scotts House had been planning the event for several weeks and the air was filled with the buzz of activity.

At 10.30 am, Christmas songs welcomed the Prep school children onto the playground, eager to enjoy the variety of stalls. There were festive sweets to buy and, of course, the cake stand drew an immediate crowd. Pupils had the opportunity to purchase toys, books, and festive rubber ducks. They had fun pinning the nose on Rudolph and guessing the number of sweets in the gingerbread house. Nail and face painting ensured that many children sparkled for the remainder of the school day. The raffle tickets sold rapidly; some prizes still need to be collected, so please check all tickets with tutors in January. No one should miss the prize of opportunity to wear their pyjamas to school or skip to the front of the lunch queue!

Thank you so much to Scotts House for working so hard to make the event a success and to the parents and pupils in the Prep school for their generous donations of cakes, toys and games. Thirty minutes of festive fun raised an incredible £858 for Scotts’ chosen charities. The amount has been shared equally between Cancer Research UK and Shooting Stars Children’s Hospices, what a lovely gift to give at Christmas time.
