Annual tournament showcases talent in both sports

Hurst recently hosted the annual HocNet tournament in which teams play both hockey and netball during one evening.

Teams from St Christopher’s, Windlesham and Lancing enjoyed the event, which showcased some fantastic talent in both sports and the standard from all teams was excellent. The tournament took on a round-robin format, as the teams played each other at both hockey and netball, with combined scores determining the leader board rankings.

This event always encourages great team spirit and enthusiasm as the players need to adapt from one sport to the other. Not only was the versatility of the teams credible but the humour of playing netball in shin pads and forgetting to remove gum shields added to the fun.

“A really enjoyable event for all competitors, as St Christopher’s A team finished runners-up to the Hurst A team. We look forward to carrying on the tradition next year,” Kristina Money, Head of Girl’s Sport, Prep School.
