Community Action Day 2023 - Hurstpierpoint College

Community Action Day 2023

One of the highlights of the Summer term is our annual Community Action Day. On Friday 23 June, all pupils in Shell, Remove and Lower Sixth participated in a variety of onsite and offsite activities.

At Hurst, pupils ran Drama, DT, STEM, and problem-solving workshops for students and pupils from Woodlands Meed College, Albourne School, and St Margaret’s Ditchling.

Offsite projects included grounds maintenance and painting projects at local Churches, Scout groups, and sports clubs, as well as supporting the summer fayres at Southway School and Poynings Church, and beach cleans in Saltdean and Lancing.

It was great to be able to make a difference to organisations in our local community and to enjoy working with others.

On behalf of the Parish please would you pass on our thanks to those lovely young people and the teachers who accompanied them last Friday. They worked so hard on a hot sunny day to make our churchyards look smart and tidy. We are very grateful for what they have done and to Hurst College for making it possible. Just a word to say how impressed I was with the students yesterday. They worked hard and did a great job despite the heat. Member of the local community
