On January 17th, 2023, to prepare for the long-awaited Upper Sixth MUN (Model United Nations) team’s visit to Colegio Ayalde in Bilbao for their final conference, they had the invaluable opportunity to visit the Ukrainian Embassy in London. This trip gave students a chance to engage in geo-political discourse with Deputy Ambassador to the United Kingdom, Eduard Fesko, who answered questions from the team. They discussed matters such as Russia’s invasion, the issue of private militaries, and the question of child soldiers, as used by the Kremlin. This Q&A experience was more useful now than ever, in light of recent events in Ukraine, to help Hurst represent with positional accuracy, keeping necessary sensitivity.
