At Hurst, every day is a life lesson. With so many co-curricular opportunities, enrichment experiences and chances to work together and take the lead, pupils are constantly developing the core skills that will help them transition smoothly into adulthood.
Teamwork and communication, empathy, oracy, overcoming shyness, personal organisation and responsibility, creative problem-solving, resilience in the face of challenge and setback – all these skills and more are being honed every day in the theatre, music school, sports teams, school houses and lively, collaborative classrooms.
But we don’t leave it at that. Some life skills need more explicit coaching and development, to help our pupils prepare for the challenges of modern higher education, the 21st Century employment landscape and the adventure of independent living. So, each school section, working alongside our dedicated Futures Team, delivers age-appropriate careers, transition and life-skills education and guidance, to ensure all our pupils leave Hurst prepared. For life.
