Pupils in Years 5 and 6 took part in engaging and informative workshops led by the It Happens Education team, as part of the school’s RSHE (Relationships, Sex and Health Education) programme.
Year 5 focused on building healthy relationships, learning how to seek permission and establish consent. They also explored the diversity of family structures and discussed who they can turn to for support when facing worries or challenges.
Meanwhile, Year 6 delved into topics around body awareness, body image, and the impact of technology. The session also helped pupils understand how to talk about and care for their private bodies in a safe and respectful way.
It Happens Education has worked closely with Hurst for many years, bringing a wealth of expertise to support the delivery of statutory RSHE content. Following the workshops, a parental webinar was offered to share current guidelines, teaching approaches, and practical tips for continuing these important conversations at home.
