Year 4 Visit Newhaven Fort
Year 4 pupils enjoyed an immersive day at Newhaven Fort to deepen their understanding of life during and after the Second World War.
The visit began with a fascinating Home Front Artefact Handling Workshop, where pupils had the chance to engage in hands-on learning with authentic artefacts from the era. This interactive session brought history to life, allowing children to explore objects that played a role in everyday wartime experiences.
After lunch, pupils explored the fort’s extensive exhibits, including interactive displays designed to spark curiosity and critical thinking. These exhibits highlighted the impact of the war on ordinary people and explained why initiatives such as rationing were essential for survival.
