On a bright and sunny day, Year 3 pupils from the Prep School had a fantastic time at Lewes Wetlands, engaging in a variety of educational and fun activities. The day began with an exploration of diverse habitats, including meadows and woodlands. The children learned about the complexity of food chains and eagerly participated in bug hunts, identifying various creatures they found. A highlight of the morning was using clay and natural materials to create unique models of the bugs they discovered, showcasing their creativity.
In the afternoon, the focus shifted to plants. The students impressed everyone with their knowledge about what plants need to thrive. They explored different plant species and created beautiful fabric leaf rubbings to take home as a memento of their day.
The combination of wildlife exploration and hands-on activities made for an enriching experience. The trip to Lewes Wetlands was a memorable adventure, leaving the pupils with a deeper appreciation for the natural world.
