Year 3 go on a Creative Caterpillar Trail - Hurstpierpoint College

Year 3 pupils embraced the golden glow of autumn with a delightful outdoor adventure that combined creativity, nature, and a touch of farmyard fun. Inspired by the season, the children set off on a Caterpillar Trail, but with a twist: this time, they were making their own.

The activity began in the classroom, where each child crafted a unique caterpillar face for their leafy creature. Armed with imagination and glue, they then ventured outside to gather fallen leaves in a kaleidoscope of colours to form the caterpillar’s body. The children were amazed by the variety of beautiful shades they discovered, turning their trail into a celebration of autumn’s natural palette.

To round off the outing, the class made a quick stop in the orchard to collect apples—treats destined for the school’s pigs.
