Year 1 Arctic and Antarctic Workshop - Hurstpierpoint College

Year 1 pupils recently took part in an exciting Arctic and Antarctic workshop, immersing themselves in the wonders of the polar regions. The interactive session brought learning to life as the children pretended to be penguins and husky dogs, experiencing the challenges of life in extreme environments.

The workshop also introduced pupils to the breathtaking phenomenon of the Northern Lights, sparking curiosity about the science behind this natural spectacle. In addition, the children explored the inspiring story of Ernest Shackleton, gaining insight into the bravery and resilience of early explorers.

The day was filled with fun, discovery, and hands-on activities, leaving pupils with a deeper understanding of these fascinating parts of the world.
