In November, a group of SPS musicians had the privilege of attending The Railway Children at the world-renowned Glyndebourne Opera, composed by Marc Anthony Turnage.
The day was made even more special as Ms Rachael Lloyd, one of Hurst’s exceptional singing teachers, took a lead role in the production, showcasing her incredible talent on stage.
Before the performance, pupils were treated to an exclusive introduction from the composer himself, offering fascinating insights into the creative process behind the opera and its musical themes.
It was a truly memorable experience and, for many of our pupils, an inspiring first step into the world of opera.
