Pupils across Reception to Year 5 enjoyed an engaging and informative PSHCE morning, with each year group taking part in activities designed to build awareness, confidence, and understanding of important life skills.
The youngest pupils in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 focused on road safety, beginning their learning on the playground before gradually building up to crossing a main road. They explored how to identify safe places to cross and the importance of being aware of their surroundings.
In Year 3, the focus was firmly on safety, with particular attention given to understanding risks. Pupils took part in activities that encouraged them to recognise potential hazards and think carefully about how to keep themselves safe in different situations. They explored everyday scenarios, identifying possible risks and learning practical strategies to manage them and make sensible, safe choices.
Year 4 pupils were introduced to the topic of puberty, learning about the physical and emotional changes that occur as they grow older. The sessions provided a supportive environment where questions could be asked, helping to build understanding and confidence as pupils prepare for the future.
Meanwhile, Year 5 explored the theme “It’s Our Body – Changing Bodies.” Pupils discussed how their bodies develop over time and reflected on the importance of respecting themselves and others during these changes. The sessions encouraged open conversation and helped to foster a positive and informed attitude towards growing up.
Overall, the morning was a valuable opportunity for pupils to develop key life skills, ask questions, and grow in confidence, with all year groups engaging enthusiastically in their learning.
