The Junior Prep School came alive with the sounds, tastes, and colours of Europe as pupils and parents celebrated the European Day of Languages 2026 with a morning full of cultural enrichment and linguistic fun.
The main event took place in the Moore Hall, where Years 5 and 6 parents were warmly welcomed to enjoy a traditional French breakfast of croissants and café before heading off to start their day. Vth Form pupils stepped into the role of waitstaff, serving younger learners and encouraging them to practise their French in a lively, interactive setting.
Meanwhile, pupils from Reception to Year 4 enjoyed their own mini continental breakfasts in classrooms, accompanied by a multilingual musical treat—Disney’s “Let It Go” sung in 25 different languages. The morning continued with language-themed quizzes and activities, including a particularly energetic session for Year 2, who learned to count to ten in German, Spanish, and Mandarin through dance and song.
The celebration was a joyful and enriching way to mark the European Day of Languages, inspiring pupils to embrace the diversity of languages and cultures around them.
