JPS celebrated the NSPCC’s annual Talk PANTS campaign with a full programme of activities aimed at promoting children’s safety and wellbeing. Although the national awareness week officially runs from 13–17 October, the school dedicated its own time to celebrating the campaign and reinforcing its important safeguarding messages.
Traditionally, Talk PANTS activities at JPS were focused on pupils from Reception to Year 2. This year, however, the initiative was expanded to include all year groups up to Year 6, ensuring that older pupils also benefited from age appropriate learning and discussions around safety.
Throughout the week, pupils took part in a variety of engaging sessions, including learning the popular Talk PANTS song and dance routine. Classes also took part in a dedicated PSHCE lesson designed to help children understand the key messages of the campaign in a supportive and accessible way.
A special assembly for Reception to Year 2 helped introduce younger learners to the concept through interactive storytelling and simple, memorable guidance.
Adding a fun and creative twist to the week, form tutors were invited to enter a classroom decorating competition, with the challenge of displaying as many colourful and imaginative pairs of “pants” as possible. The playful contest brought energy and enthusiasm to the week, while reinforcing the serious importance of the safeguarding theme.
By taking part in the NSPCC’s Talk PANTS initiative, JPS continues to support wider national efforts to encourage open, age appropriate conversations that help keep children safe.
