Competitive Cross Country races - Hurstpierpoint College

A dry, bitterly cold but sunny day greeted our athletes as they arrived at Great Walstead for the U11 and U13 Cross Country races.

Runners in the U11 Cross Country races were set off first on a new course, through the forest. In the girls’ event, Amelie W took a superb second place and Ciara O narrowly missed out on bronze by the smallest of margins. Tom C B led our team home in the boys’ event, with Henry B close behind – carrying another runner’s shoe!

Our U13 girls were rather surprised by the length of their course, as all finished in the middle of the pack. In the boys’ race, TJ S secured an excellent seventh place and Reuben B rounded out the top 10. All of our other runners finished inside the top 25, which was a tremendous achievement.

We would like to thank Great Walstead for hosting such a great event and we are already looking forward to next year’s edition Ben Dewey, Head of Boy’s Sport (Prep School)
