Year 4 Visit Ditchling Museum - Hurstpierpoint College

Year 4 pupils recently enjoyed an inspiring visit to Ditchling Museum, where they took part in a hands-on weaving workshop. Using traditional hand looms, the children discovered how landscapes can influence textile design, blending creativity with practical crafting skills.

The workshop offered a unique opportunity for pupils to develop artistic techniques while engaging thoughtfully with the process of weaving. Throughout the day, excellent behaviour was evident, with pupils listening attentively, supporting one another, and showing great respect for the museum environment.

The session proved to be both educational and fun, sparking enthusiasm among the group. Many pupils left eager to continue their new hobby with some even adding a wooden weaving loom to their Christmas wish lists.
