Year 1 Explore The British Wildlife Centre - Hurstpierpoint College

Year 1 pupils recently enjoyed an exciting and educational visit to The British Wildlife Centre as part of their current topic on animals. The trip offered a unique opportunity to observe a variety of native British species up close, including otters, wildcats, badgers, deer, and foxes.

One of the highlights of the day was meeting Yoda the owl, who patiently perched while the children learned about his habits and natural habitat. The experience brought classroom learning to life, allowing pupils to connect their studies with real-world observations.

The knowledgeable keeper shared fascinating facts throughout the visit, and the children impressed staff with their thoughtful questions and enthusiastic engagement. The trip was a valuable extension of their learning and a memorable day for all involved.
