Five members of Hurst’s Young Enterprise team, Phufulo, took part in a pop-up trade fair at the Old Spitalfields Market in London. This trade fair opportunity was for the whole of the YE South East region, featuring more than 45 schools, and was the first time Hurst has taken a team to this venue.
After an early start, the team of Orianne G (MD), James B (Deputy MD), Eloise B, Ashley G and Cordelia I set up their stall, sold their handmade pet toys to the members of the public and presented to a range of judges. As well as generating a good level of sales, the team were also joint runners-up for the Best Trade Stand award. They demonstrated excellent customer service, strong communications skills and were a real credit to Hurst.
There will be further sales opportunities, and the team will also take part the West Sussex competition next term.
