Tennis at Hurst

Hurst Tennis offers a high-performance programme designed to support players with the ambition and potential to compete at county, regional, and national levels, and go on to university pathways at home and abroad.

Players benefit from a fully integrated training environment, including individual coaching, performance squads, structured match play, and tailored Strength and Conditioning support delivered throughout the year. This holistic approach ensures each athlete is supported technically, tactically, physically, and mentally.

Our on-site facilities include 23 outdoor courts (11 hard and 12 astro) alongside a dedicated tennis pavilion, allowing for a high-volume, high-quality training programme within the school environment.

Competitions

Hurst teams compete in leading national and regional competitions, including the LTA Schools Winter Cup, FAGE Schools League, LTA Sussex School age group cups, Sussex Independent Schools cups, and National Knockout events. In addition, players have regular opportunities to compete through internal championships and nationally recognised pathways such as Play Your Way to Wimbledon.

Open Mornings

A Hurst Open Morning provides an opportunity for parents/guardians and prospective pupils to tour the campus, listen to presentations by the Head of College and current pupils, meet key members of staff, talk to pupils and view some of the classroom activities on show. It is an excellent way to see an overview of what Hurst has to offer.

Personal Tours

Personal Tours are run on weekdays and provide an opportunity for parents/guardians and prospective pupils to see the Hurst on a working day. You can pop in and out of lessons, talk to current pupils and staff, and even have a look at what is on the lunch menu for the day.
