St John's Icebreaker Disco - Hurstpierpoint College

Early in the Michaelmas Term St John’s House held its traditional ‘Ice Breaker’ disco, which adopted a Wild West theme this year. The St John’s Committee worked hard to set the scene, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere that encouraged students to get to know one another in a more relaxed setting. DJ Ian kept everyone on their feet with a great selection of tunes.

Costumes played a central role in the event. Seb C-O and Georgie F were recognised for their standout outfits, receiving prizes for the best cowboy and cowgirl. Their creativity added to the spirit of the evening and helped bring the theme to life. Another highlight came towards the end of the night when DJ Ian gave Ludo R the honour of choose the final song, which brought the event to a cheerful close.

The ‘Ice Breaker’ gave students the chance to meet new people, talk to those they may not normally see during the busy school day, and enjoy a relaxed social occasion in the heart of the House. The evening helped the year group settle into St John’s, offering an early opportunity to form new connections at the start of their Upper Sixth year.
