Show jumping event success at Felbridge

Twenty riders competed at the Felbridge Show jumping event last weekend, with three making their debut for Team Hurst.

Starting the weekend off was Scarlett in the 70cm. This was her first show and first outing on her horse Calypso. She rode a beautiful double clear to finish in fourteenth place. The team in the 80cm finished in fifth place with Olivia and Morten jumping double clear. Tilda and Tandy also jumped double clear and this pair has come on so much since lockdown has eased.

Im team qualify for Hickstead Elite finals

There were three teams in the 90cm who finished fourth and fifth respectively. Morten, Finn and Abbie were fourth; Harriet, John and Eloise were fifth. This was Morten’s first 90cm and he showed them all how it is done by finishing seventh individually, and Abbie was eleventh. In the 1m, which was a qualifier for the Hickstead Elite finals in July, our team of Scarlett, Olivia, Reece and Matilda jumped beautifully to finish in second place and secure a spot at the finals. Individually, three of them were in the top 10 – Matilda was second, Scarlett fifth and Olivia eighth.

In the Grassroots section, Rosie from Reception was our youngest member of the team. She rode Goldy and Amy in the 40cm and 50cm. She went double clear and finished fourteenth on Amy in the 50cm, producing some fabulous work in big classes. In the final class of the weekend Reece was fifth in the 1.10m Elite qualifier, closely followed by Scarlett and Matilda.
