At the 420 British Nationals that took place in Pwllheli this September, Hugo V was crowned both the Under 19 and Male National Champion. He also competed in the World Championships held in Alicante this July. The past three years’ dedicated training and hard work have clearly been paying off for Hugo, and he is very grateful for the ongoing support of his sailing coach and the College too. For his final year in the Youth class, Hugo will now move into the Mixed Boat before eventually transitioning into the Olympic 470 Class!
Hugo is also set to begin mentoring Emilia L, a current Shell pupil, who is looking embark on a similar sailing path. We hope that his experienced and lessons learned will be invaluable in helping her to achieve her own goals for the future.
