Prep Cross Country Challenge - Hurstpierpoint College

The spirit of competition was alive and well as pupils from all houses laced up their trainers for the annual Prep School House Cross Country event.

The course, which wound through fields and woodland paths, tested stamina and resilience. From the very start, it was clear that every runner was giving their all—not just for personal glory, but for the pride of their house.

This year’s event featured a full programme of races across different age groups. Pupils in Years 5 and 6 kicked things off with the boys’ and girls’ races, setting a high standard of effort and enthusiasm. The competition continued with the Year 7 and 8 boys’ and girls’ races, where older pupils demonstrated impressive speed and endurance.

House points were fiercely contested throughout. In the boys’ Years 5 and 6 race, Ignis claimed first place, while Ventus and Terra shared second, and third went to Aqua. For the older boys in Years 7 and 8, Ignis stormed to victory, with Aqua and Terra tying for second and Ventus close behind. The girls’ Years 5 and 6 race saw Aqua and Ventus share the top spot, followed by Ignis and then Terra. Finally, in the Years 7 and 8 girls’ race, Terra took first place, with Ventus and Ignis sharing second and Aqua finishing fourth.
