Physicists in Switzerland - Hurstpierpoint College

After an informative tour of the UN, our physicists headed to CERN; the European Organization for Nuclear Research, and one of the world’s largest and most respected scientific research centres. Here they enjoyed lunch in one of CERN’s restaurants, as well as a tour of the data centre. The students were shown around by one of the experts working on separating collision events and neutrino collisions in the massive amount of data produced, who provided superb answers to the never-ending questions posed by our inquisitive group of young physicists!

After the tour, the group headed to Lake Geneva, and dined on fondue in a local restaurant. Saturday was spent in the Natural History Museum and at a Christmas Market on the lakeside, before flying home!
