After some dreadful weather in the lead up to the annual inter-house competition, known as The Sporty One, the afternoon in question was blessed with dry conditions and the odd sunny spell.
With pupils working in house teams, across different year groups, coaches designed rallies and relays, assault and agility courses and ingenious challenges to involve everyone from the experienced hockey player to the novice cross-country runner.
Mixing pupils from different year groups put a new spin on the rugby challenges and it was down to the wire in the team cross-country decider.
Our group of dedicated sports staff worked enthusiastically before and during the event to create an inclusive and exciting experience for all, as most pupils experienced games in a whole new light. The energy was upbeat and the competition healthy. In the end, Bettys were crowned the overall winners of the even.
