The Hurst pool was alive with excitement as we hosted the annual Prep IAPS Swimming Qualifier, welcoming four visiting schools for a highly competitive and energetic gala. Highfield School brought a strong squad of 32 swimmers, Hawthorns arrived with 28, Great Walstead with 22, and Copthorne with 8, joining our own impressive team of 32 swimmers.
Across a packed schedule of races, swimmers from all schools delivered determined performances, pushing for fast times and national qualification spots. The atmosphere around the pool was vibrant, with teammates and spectators offering enthusiastic support throughout the event.
All times from qualifying galas will be compiled nationally, and the fastest 20 swimmers in each event will then secure a coveted place in the IAPS National Finals, set to take place at the London Aquatics Centre in June.
Our swimmers now eagerly await the national rankings to see who will progress to the finals on one of the most prestigious stages in school sport.
