Hurst Rangers

As part of the Fifth Form Service Day, students from the Hurst Farm and woodland activities group spent an enjoyable, if somewhat wet, day on local National Trust site, Wolstonbury Hill.

They were there to assist the National Trust Rangers with footpath and bridleway maintenance, and were kept very busy clearing away and burning undergrowth. The local bridleways were extremely muddy after a very wet winter, and by clearing away some of the surrounding vegetation to allow more light in, the rangers hope this will enable them to dry out more quickly.

Our students certainly enjoyed the chance to get out and about in the local area and give something back to the community. We're looking forward to doing the same again next year! Hannah Prescott, Activity leader
