Written by Craig Hawes, Grossbusters proved to be a huge success, entertaining audiences with its catchy songs, quirky characters and laugh-out-loud comedy. Beneath the fun and chaos, the musical delivered a heartwarming message about celebrating differences, embracing individuality and having the courage to be yourself.
The cast demonstrated tremendous enthusiasm, dedication and teamwork throughout the production. For many pupils, the performance marked their debut on the Hurst stage, making the occasion even more memorable. The story followed Norman Normal, a resident of the seemingly perfect town of Normsville, where fitting in was considered the key to happiness. However, when monster mayhem erupted across the city, Norman’s biggest secret was revealed, and he found himself cast out from the only home he had ever known. Sent down the infamous Rubbish Chute of Doom, he discovered a wonderfully weird world filled with marvellous monsters and newfound friends.
As Norman joined forces with the Grossbusters, audiences were taken on an exciting adventure that challenged stereotypes and celebrated diversity. Through friendship, courage and acceptance, the characters learned that being different is something to be embraced and that everyone deserves a place where they belong.
