Fundraising endeavours from Lowes house

Last Friday, Prep pupils in Lowes house raised almost £750 from fundraising endeavours during their first ‘normal’ charity day in three years. During morning break, there were a whole host of exciting stalls and activities on offer.

Pupils from other houses supported the fundraising efforts by enjoying cakes and waffles, sifting through trash and treasure, buying handmade origami spinners and having their nails painted. They were also invited to buy tickets for an auction of promises, which included wearing their own clothes/pyjamas to school and having lunch served at their table by a member of staff.

Over the course of last week, pupils were asked to donate tinned and packet foods. A wide selection was collected which means that more than 20 extra large shopping bags will be distributed to local families via the Burgess Hill Food Bank. They were also asked to donate clothing for a nearly new sale in aid of Cameron’s Orphanage Project.

Amongst all the excitement, pupils were reminded during Chapel that they had made a huge contribution to the lives of others through their donations and purchases. The funds raised from the charity day will be shared between the college’s Ukraine appeal and other charities chosen by the pupils.
