Equestrian Summer of Success

After qualifying back in February for the British Showjumping Winter JC Final, Lauren earned a place at the prestigious Royal International Horse Show which was hosted at Hickstead this July. Along with 24 other pony riders from all over the country, jumping in the main International Arena at Hickstead was a huge honour, but also a challenge too! Lauren was fourth to go and took 1.5 seconds off the leading rider…despite a great performance by the next competitor, Lauren and her pony ‘Eloclea’ held their strong lead and took the National Championship. It’s a major title in pony showjumping, and a superb achievement for Lauren’s final year on ponies before she moves onto horses at the end of this year.

At the beginning of this summer, Mette competed at the 3* Concours de Dressage International (CDI) show in Wellington. As part of the CDIU age group, for riders aged 16-25, Mette was amongst the youngest in her category. On the day, Mette competed two horses: ‘Sir Donato’ and ‘Caporal de Massa’, an 11-year-old stallion who has previously competed for France. Mette had an incredible day; she won all the four different classes that she competed in, securing her a place for the European Championships Junior Team. In August, Mette competed in the Europeans hosted in Italy; her team secured a bronze medal, and she also came 10th as an individual!
