Eagerly guessing what might be inside five mysterious eggs that appeared earlier this month, ideas such as crocodiles and penguins were suggested from the excitable Reception pupils. The anticipation built up until the moment the eggs hatched, revealing adorable ducklings.
Taking on such a huge responsibility, the children jumped at the chance to nurture the hatchlings and teach them essential skills, including swimming, eating, drinking, and sleeping. This provided a fantastic opportunity for the pupils to learn about animal care and the importance of responsibility.
The hatchlings have now departed to a new pond. While the pupils were sad to see them go, they were excited for the hatchlings’ new adventure and proud of the role they played in their early development.
