College hosts Albourne Primary pupils

The college was delighted to host pupils in Years 3, 4 and 5 from Albourne C of E Primary School for three ‘school-but-not-at-school’ days this week.

As Hurst had already broken up for the holidays, Albourne’s pupils and teachers were able to reunite on the college campus for the first time since lockdown began in March. Activity sessions included street dance, the farm, music and the forest school, plus each year group enjoyed a mini sports day in the afternoon.

It has been a real privilege to welcome the staff and pupils from Albourne. We always learn a huge amount from Albourne's outstanding teachers, and have tremendous fun with their brilliant children. But it was particularly special this time to see pupils reuniting after 13 weeks of lockdown Brian Schofield, Hurst's Partnerships and Liaison Lead

We are so grateful to our neighbours at Hurst College for hosting and leading these three days for us. Staff and children had a wonderful time; ‘The best day ever’ I was told by several pupils. We look forward to continuing the partnership next year Anne Claxton, Head Teacher at Albourne Primary

I hope this will be the beginning of a greater role in the local educational landscape beyond our own campus and I believe that we may now be at the beginning of a very good chapter for Hurst. We are not all in the same boat and it is right for us to work with others as best we can Tim Manly, Hurst’s Headmaster
