This year’s cohort of Upper Sixth leavers have celebrated A-level results day at Hurst with an exceptionally strong set of grades across a wide range of subjects. Over 87% of grades were awarded at A* – B, leading to a lovely community moment as the students returned to Hurst for the final time to open their envelopes, congratulate each other, and thank their teachers and parents who have supported them over the last two years.
The Head of College, Mr Dominic Mott, paid tribute to what he described as a “fantastic collective achievement”, adding that he was “extremely proud of every student who has worked so hard to deserve these grades.” He was particularly pleased to see these grades “open doors to some of the finest university destinations in the country”.
In particular, Mr Mott highlighted the sustained improvements at the top end of the cohort. An impressive 60% of grades matched last year’s record for A* and As, demonstrating what he described as “the intellectual and academic rigour demonstrated by our talented Sixth Form students”. He also pointed out the remarkable success of the Extended Project Qualification, where over 92% of grades were awarded either A* or A. “This is proof not only of the students’ dedication and commitment, but also the independence and life skills that they have developed which will prepare them for life beyond Hurst.”
