Our Fifth Form Drama Scholars will be performing this play as part of the Hurst Festival.
In a dark reimagining of the Cinderella story, The Ash Girl brings fairy tale magic into a world haunted by demons of doubt, envy, and fear. Living in the ashes, Ashgirl longs for more than the life she has, but to step into the light she must first confront the shadows within herself.
Blending familiar fairy tale motifs with sharp psychological insight, Timberlake Wertenbaker weaves a moving and thought-provoking tale about courage, transformation, and the hope of love. Both haunting and uplifting, The Ash Girl asks: what happens when our deepest fears stand between us and our own happily-ever-after?
