Pastoral

Good pastoral care is essential for a child to flourish and each child is valued as an individual.  Form tutors are responsible for pastoral care, supported by a strong tutor team, guided by their Head of Year and the designated safeguarding lead.

Tutor System

Pupils are allocated to a form and are well supported by their Form tutor and Head of Year as necessary.  The Deputy Head Pastoral and Director of Safeguarding of the college are also available.  In the Prep School there is also a Pastoral Intervention Practitioner (PIP) who works with individuals and small groups as needed.

House System

Children are allocated to one of the four houses, which allows different years to work together in teams for various house competitions and encourages healthy competition and teamwork.  Our houseparents take an active role in encouraging their pupils to earn house points; they also take the lead in organising charity days to create an awareness of responsibility to the wider community.  We strongly value our links with the local and global community, and our children regularly support various charities b holding special events not just by house, but also by year group and within the Prep School community.

Guardians and Prefects

Pupils in Years 6,7 and 8 can apply to be School Guardians and Prefects.  They undergo a full day’s training and then undertake duties in both the Pre-Prep and Prep Schools, looking out for and supporting pupils.
