Upper Sixth Wellbeing Day - Hurstpierpoint College

Upper Sixth Students celebrated World Mental Health Day in style last Friday with a special Wellbeing Day in house. Packed with activities designed to rejuvenate and de-stress, the event offered students a welcome break from academic pressures, embracing mindfulness, relaxation, and a focus on overall wellness.

The day kicked off with a healthy brunch curated by catering teams at Sodexo and Hurst Catering, serving nutritious delights to fuel everyone for the relaxing experiences ahead. Following brunch, students enjoyed manicure nail bar manned by skilled professionals from Polished by Hannah C, leaving pupils with a polished touch and a sense of self-care.

For those needing deeper relaxation, a professional masseur provided massages, relieving tension and promoting physical wellness. Breaktime featured a calming Mindfulness session, allowing pupils to center themselves and take a mental pause, while lunchtime brought the event’s highlight: a Sound Gong Bath, led by Benjamin from Moonwater Planet. This unique sound therapy experience enveloped students in soothing vibrations, a first-time experience for many and a memorable escape from the noise of daily life.

In the afternoon, the school’s in-house Pilates instructor, Helen Sheppard, guided students through a Pilates session, helping them stretch, strengthen, and release any remaining tension. By the day’s end, pupils were left refreshed, grounded, and more connected with their own well-being.

St John’s House couldn’t have imagined a more fitting way to honour World Mental Health Day, leaving students inspired to carry these wellness practices into their routines for continued balance and peace.
