During November, Hurst were fortunate to host the Sophie Lancaster Foundation, who delivered a powerful, impacting and thought-provoking talk on subculture hate and the vital importance of fostering respect for others.
The messages shared by the Sophie Lancaster Foundation resonated deeply with all who attended, leaving a lasting impression. We hope that the themes of respect and empathy will inspire meaningful change in how we treat and perceive one another.
Although the theme of ‘Choose Respect’ had already been covered in our house assemblies and other awareness initiatives, the presentation brought a deeply visceral view to all students and staff, highlighting the suffering caused by intolerance and prejudice combined with the necessity of empowerment within all communities to achieve true equity and equality.
