The Great Fire of London
Year 2 pupils kicked off their new topic ‘To the Rescue’ with an exciting hands-on experience in the JPS Science Labs. The theme began with an engaging exploration into the Great Fire of London and the concept of everyday superheroes.
Led by Miss Money, the session sparked wonder and curiosity as the children witnessed a series of thrilling fire-related experiments. Highlights included the dramatic sight of flying teabag cases, a fascinating investigation into how quickly various materials burn, and dazzling displays of colourful reactions as different elements were exposed to flames.
The children also got up close and personal with Bunsen Burners, learning about fire safety and the science behind different types of flames.
