Shell (Year 9)

Shell pupils study a core academic curriculum comprising English, Mathematics and Science and a core creative curriculum of Dance, Drama and PE. Pupils also choose five subjects from the following: Computer Science, French, Geography, History, Latin, RS, Spanish and two creative options from Art, Design Technology and Music. Personal, Social and Health Education is covered as part of a personal enrichment programme. Learning Support and English as a Second Language (ESL) may be selected instead of an optional subject.

Remove & Fifth Form (Years 10 & 11)

In Remove and Fifth all pupils study the same academic core as they did in Shell (Year 9). In addition, four optional subject choices are selected from blocks which include the following: Art, Classical Greek, Computer Science, Dance, Design Technology, Drama, French, Geography, History, Latin, Music, Physical Education, Religious Studies and Spanish.

Sixth Form (Years 12 & 13)

Most A-level subjects have 10 lessons per fortnight and practical subjects have an extra lesson in the Lower Sixth year. All subjects have 11 lessons per fortnight in the Upper Sixth but those taking Maths with Further Maths have 15 lessons per fortnight throughout their course. Students are expected to be working towards university entrance, which normally requires three A-levels.
