Whitgift Invitational

Our school’s top swimmers competed at the prestigious Whitgift Invitational Meet, against schools from across the UK in a highly competitive setting.

The girls’ team delivered an outstanding performance, securing three victories and finishing as runners-up in three other events. Their consistent excellence saw them finish 2nd overall, just two points behind Leeds Grammar School in a nervous finish.

The boys’ team demonstrated significant progress, achieving faster times than in previous years across both relay and individual events. Their hard work paid off, earning them a spot in the top ten — a promising result as they continue to build momentum.

Bath and Otter Cup

Following their strong showing at Whitgift, our teams travelled to Stratford and the iconic London Aquatic Centre to compete in the Bath and Otter Cup national event.

In the Freestyle relay, the girls placed 11th, narrowly missing out on a finals spot. However, their impressive time sets a solid foundation for the future, with all team members eligible to compete again next year.

The boys’ team achieved a personal best in the Bath Cup 4x100m Freestyle relay, making a significant leap in their ranking compared to last year — a testament to their hard work and dedication since the last competition.

The Medley relays brought further success. The girls’ team, composed of Hattie L, Katie F, Katie M, Emily G, and Ciara O, qualified for the final in 10th place but went even faster in the final, finishing 8th overall out of 80 schools.

Meanwhile, the boys’ medley team — Luke W, James M, Jacob W, and Jonathan A — all swam their best times, securing a 24th place finish. Again, their time showed a marked improvement from the past two years and put them just a few seconds away from a finals spot.
