Year 1 students had a fantastic morning filled with learning and fun as they explored the Arctic, Antarctic, and the famous explorer Ernest Shackleton. Through drama and interactive games, the children immersed themselves in the world of polar regions.
The highlight of the session was the energetic penguin dance, where students learned about the fascinating birds that thrive in the freezing Antarctic. They also pretended to be a variety of Arctic animals, from playful seals to mighty polar bears, as they gained a deeper understanding of life in the extreme cold.
Thanks to their creative activities, the children now have a clear grasp of the differences between the Arctic and Antarctica. They also discovered why polar bears, which live in the Arctic, would never eat penguins, as penguins are found only in the Antarctic.
It was a morning of adventure, learning, and fun, and the Year 1 students can proudly say they are now polar experts!
