Four pupils—Hugo B, Oscar S, Zach N, and Toby L—took part in the finals of this year’s prestigious Schoolboys Ski Races, held under the Eiger. Over an exciting few days of skiing and racing, the team delivered outstanding performances against some of the best young racers in Europe.
The event kicked off with unpredictable weather, which saw half a meter of fresh snow force the cancellation of the Slalom race. Despite this, the boys made the most of the extra snow, refining their skills on the slopes.
Conditions improved dramatically for the Giant Slalom, which ran in glorious sunshine. All four racers placed within the top 10 of their respective age categories, a remarkable achievement given the level of competition. Zach N delivered a standout performance, finishing just 0.54 seconds shy of the podium—a testament to his determination and talent with a combined score of 97.89 seconds.
The competition featured 133 racers, with the top 30 being full-time skiers who train and compete all season while receiving tutoring. For the boys to excel in such a field is an extraordinary accomplishment.
