From the grandeur of the Acropolis to the majestic mountains of Delphi and the ancient running track of Olympia, Sixth Form Latin and Classical Civilisation students spent five unforgettable days immersed in the history and culture of Ancient Greece exploring some of the world’s most renowned archaeological sites.
The trip allowed students to experience firsthand the temples, sanctuaries and theatres to learn about the architecture, philosophy and politics in Ancient Greece as part of their A-Level Classical Civilisation syllabus.
A particular highlight was the visit to Epidaurus, where students were able to experience the remarkable acoustics of the magnificent ancient theatre, a testament to the Greeks’ architectural mastery. Seeing the evidence of voting in the museums, reminded the students of how fundamental the ancient Greeks were to the world we live in today, and that today humans are ultimately not so different from them.
