School Nurse
We are seeking to recruit a School Nurse to work as part of our Medical Centre Team. The primary function of the jobholder will be to provide safe and up to date first aid and medical care of pupils at the College in line with the College’s First Aid Policy and in accordance with the published National Minimum Standards for Boarding Schools.
Responsibilities
Nursing:
- Working as part of a team to ensure there is cover as necessary in the Medical Centre.
- Undertaking the triage, diagnosis, treatment and/or referral of injuries and illnesses in accordance with agreed protocols.
- Providing emergency care to pupils and, where necessary, staff and visitors to the College.
- Providing nursing advice to House and College staff as requested.
- Facilitate the organisation of routine vaccination programmes in liaison with West Sussex Immunisation Team, and maintaining appropriate records as necessary.
- Detailed knowledge of and adherence to Child Protection Protocols within the College, discussing any concerns with the Senior Nurse and the Designated Safeguarding Lead.
- Providing ‘back-up’ first aid support during sporting events, as and when required to do so, in liaison with Player Welfare Team.
- Acting as one of the College’s designated First Aiders under H & S legislation.
- Supervising the surgeries held by the College doctor(s) and the College counsellors.
- Arranging outpatient visits for pupils, as and when required.
- Ensuring medical supplies are maintained in date and in specified quantities.
- Providing other health-care related services, as required, to ensure an outstanding level of care is maintained at all times, as well as accepting named nurse responsibilities for pupils with complex needs.
Health Records and Education:
- Documenting accurately all consultations and communications regarding pupils, staff & visitors.
- Ensuring the safe storage and administration of medicines according to NMS guidelines, and maintaining appropriate records as necessary.
- Promoting Health Education throughout the College and on an individual basis.
CPD:
- Attending training courses, as and when required (including in the College holidays) and College Inset Days, in order to meet the CPD & Revalidation requirements for registered nurses as set down by the Nursing and Midwifery Council.
- Confidentiality & Communication
- Ensuring the maintenance of confidentiality at all times.
- Liaising regularly with the Clinical Lead and Medical Centre Manager on Medical Centre issues, reading the weekly team brief and attending any meetings, as required.
- Liaising regularly with the College Doctor.
- Liaising with the parents and house parents when necessary.
- Providing high levels of communications with House Parents and Matrons.
Candidates should be qualified to a minimum of RN1 level and be registered with the NMC.
Working hours:
The Medical Centre is operational Monday to Friday, 7.30 am-7.00 pm, term time only. This post is offered to work 2 days per week (10 hours per day) plus the opportunity for additional Bank hours to cover Study Leave and sickness.
Salary:
£41,284 FTE (£17,131 p.a. for 2 days per week TTO + 1 week). Salaries are reviewed annually.

Digital Marketing and Admissions Assistant
Digital Marketing and Admissions Assistant.
We are looking to recruit a highly motivated person to join our Marketing and Admissions Team. We are looking for someone with the skills and experience in SEO and PPC so that we can tap into your expertise to bring the Hurst brand to life.
Above all we wish to recruit candidates with a positive, ‘can-do’ attitude who can add value to our existing team.
You will get involved with:
- Managing and executing campaigns across various digital channels, including social media, search engines and display advertising.
- Conducting market research and analysing trends to identify new opportunities and improve campaign performance
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams, including creative, content and web development to produce engaging content and optimise user experience
- Copywriting for SEO and implementing on-site SEO changes
- Assist the marketing team with a range of projects including news stories, some
- website management, reporting, social media posts
You will also assist the Admissions team with, among other duties, responding to queries, booking Open Mornings and sending of marketing materials.
The successful candidate will have:
- A degree in Digital Marketing, Marketing, Communications or related field.
- A strong understanding of digital marketing channels, including SEO, PPC, social media, email marketing and display advertising
- Be proficient in marketing automation tools
- Excellent analytical skills and experience with Google Analytics.
- Strong project and time management skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Working hours: 8:30am -6pm, Monday to Friday, term time only.
Salary: £25,850 p.a. (£30,055k FTE). Salaries are reviewed annually.

Designer in Residence
Are you ready to take your passion for design and engineering to the next level? Do you thrive in an environment where innovation meets education?
We are seeking a creative Design or Engineering Year in Industry placement student, or recent graduate, to join our dynamic department at Hurstpierpoint College as our next Designer in Residence, on a one-year fixed term from August 2024.
This unique live-in role offers a blend of hands-on experience and mentorship, from assisting in curriculum development to igniting creativity in our students. Not only will you have the chance to work on your own projects – but you’ll also have the opportunity to help shape the next generation of designers.
You will get involved in:
- Collaborating with our Design and Technology Department staff in the delivery and development of the curriculum.
- Facilitating an ambition of design and creativity to all our students, particularly at GCSE and A Level, through team-teaching support in lessons as they develop their coursework and other projects.
- Working alongside the Department’s technician in the efficient operation of our Prep Room, and assisting with resourcing for lessons and activities.
- Assisting the Coordinator of Co-curricular DT by running activities and enrichment sessions, with the potential opportunity for some Senior Prep activities and/or lessons (Years 7 and 8) to be taught later in the academic year – mentoring for this as part of our Teach Hurst program will be provided
- Maintaining a Designer in Residence blog for the College’s social media and publications.
The successful candidate will:
- Be able to demonstrate analytical, creative and technical flair in all areas of the design process.
- Have a high standard of graphical presentation skills in both traditional techniques and CAD.
- Have confidence with a range of workshop equipment to work with the main resistant materials (accreditation in basic workshop competency and safety can be arranged).
- An engagement with more complex engineering principles, manufacturing technologies, CNC machinery and programmable electronics/control would be desirable.
- Be a confident communicator with both young people and adults, be a team player and be ready to muck in, have patience as well as having a good sense of humour

Sports Assistant - Placement Opportunity

In this unique live-in role you’ll be at the heart of our Games Department, assisting with both administrative tasks and practical coaching sessions. Working as part of our great transport team – you will be responsible for driving College minibuses primarily in the mornings and evenings to ensure that all pupils are collected and dropped off according to passenger schedules.
Working hours: Hours are Monday to Friday 6.00 am to 8.30 am and 5.45 pm – 8.00 pm, term time only- 34 weeks p.a.
Hourly rate: £13.11 (inclusive of holiday pay).

Cleaning Supervisor
Cleaning Supervisor
Samsic UK is recruiting for a permanent Cleaning Supervisor to provide a professional facilities management service based at Hurstpierpoint College.
This position requires you to work for 7.5 hours per day from 5:30 am to 1:00 pm, Monday to Friday with a 30-minute break. The payment for this position is £12.57 per hour.
