Visitors to Hurst are usually surprised by the vibrant dynamics of the college and the strength of the ‘Hurst culture’.

Hurst is a school where pupils are truly enabled and challenged to make the most of the talents that lie within them and, just as importantly, the huge opportunities which are available to them here. We are ambitious for our pupils to achieve the best they can in all that they do and we recognise both their engagement and their achievement.

We understand that the best possible academic grades are critical for life choices but, at the same time, the development of those key skills, qualities and values which are so important in life, come perhaps more from engagement with Hurst life beyond the classroom.

We aim to develop confident, successful, independent individuals with a good sense of themselves and the world around them, who will succeed in their lives whatever route they choose to take and, who will take the route which is truly right for them. A bold claim but, at Hurst, this is what drives us.
