As the first dusting of snow descended on the College, pupils and staff were invited to a hot chocolate fundraiser for Off the Fence, a charity that works to support vulnerable and homeless people in Brighton and Hove.
The College prefects hosted a stall selling sweet hot chocolates with whipped cream, a variety of different toppings including marshmallows, and life-changing shortbread biscuits from charity Half the Story, a charity that supports women who have experienced significant life challenges, such as homelessness, domestic abuse, and mental health struggles. The charity empowers these women by providing employment opportunities through the creation and sale of high-quality, handcrafted products, like their famous shortbread biscuits.
With only 25 minutes of break, the prefects were inundated with custom from pupils and staff, selling over 200 cups of hot chocolate and raising over £150 which will go directly to supporting Off the Fence’s vital work, as well as Half the Story’s mission of empowerment and social change. The event not only warmed the hearts of all those involved but also made a tangible difference in the lives of those who need it most.
