A Level and IB Results 2013

A levels:

90.7% of our A2 results were A*/C grades and 30 A* grades had been achieved overall. Ben Rudling achieved an impressive 5A* and 1 A grade. Altogether twenty one pupils gained 3As or better and A* and A grades made up 39.5% of our results. In addition to their A2 levels, many students completed additional AS levels, Level 3 Extended Projects and our BTEC Sport class once more achieved stunning results with 70 % Distinctions Starred and 30% Distinctions.

This year two of our A2 Upper Sixth leavers secured their Oxbridge places and others confirmed their university places in London at Imperial College, the LSE and University College. Andrew Everall will study Physics at Jesus College, Oxford and Georgina Meredith will read Human Sciences at Magdalen College, Oxford. Many others have gone on to Russell Group universities such as Birmingham, Durham, Exeter, Leeds, Warwick and York; two students will be reading Medicine and one will start on a Veterinary Medicine course at the Royal Veterinary College this year.

IB Results 2013

In our first set of IB results 31.6% of the students gained 40 points or higher (out of a maximum of 45 points. 87.7 % of all subject entries were awarded one of the top three grades (Levels 7, 6 and 5) and 68.4% of all the grades were Levels 7 and 6. In addition, all the students successfully completed a Creativity, Action and Service Programme and 36.8% of the group achieved the full 3 points for their 4,000 word Extended Essays and Theory of Knowledge.

Overall, grades 7-5 were awarded 86% and 89.5% for Higher Level and Standard Level subject entries respectively. The average points score per candidate was an impressive 36.6.

Elizabeth Freeman gained 44 points and secured her place at St Hugh’s College, Oxford to read Philosophy and French whilst both Marie Schmitz and Benjamin Mason were awarded 43 points. ¬†Benjamin goes on to to study Theology at Oriel College, Oxford and Marie will study abroad. Aliya Yule also headed for Oxford to read PPE at Wadham College.
